#26 The Thing (103 minutes)

I don't understand why this prequel gets a bad wrap, I enjoy it. The story is just what I would expect from a prequel, it is not over the top trying to tie it to the original, but gives just enough. It's a solid stand alone movie, if you've never seen the 82' version. The special effects are not the greatest but good enough. Acting is solid and believable characters move the story along nicely, my biggest complaint about the movie is that it's not believable as an 80's set, everything looks to new. Make sure and watch the credits as there is a fun tie in to the 82 film.

A group of scientists in Antarctica discover an Alien ship and a passenger buried deep in the ice near their camp. The team excavate the body of the passenger and determine it is in fact an alien. The alien body begins to thaw out and attaches itself to a host and begins to replicate it's human cells creating a replicate body, imitating the human exactly.
