More along the theme of watching films I haven't seen in forever, Ace Ventura. An earlier Jim Carey film, but my favorite early JC film has to be High Strung.
Ace Ventura is a pet detective hired to solve the case of the missing Miami Dolphins mascot Snowflake. Ace gets leads by pestering the local police and his strange set of investigation techniques. Ace finds the kidnappers but it's not who you would expect.
