Allan a young athlete who is shown at the beginning of the movie running with weights on his wrists and ankles and with a backpack full of bricks, gets hit by a truck and is now paralyzed from the neck down. After attempting to commit suicide, Allan's friend a scientist who works with monkeys decides to sneak one out of the lab and pay for it to be trained to help out Allan with his day to day activities. Everything goes fine for awhile until Ella (the monkey) kills the nurses bird, because it knows Allan doesn't like it. Ella becomes to fall in love with Allan and starts playing him love songs and hugging him. Ella then turns on Allan's girlfriend and best friend and attempts to kill them.
