Agent J is sent to bring back Agent K after he lost his memory from being neuralized. As agent K is the only one who knows where the light of Zartha is hidden. The light of Zartha was supposed to have been sent to another planet, but for some reason K decided to hide it on earth instead. Now J has to help K recover his memories and find the light before Serleena finds it and destroys earth.
