#100 The Undertaker (89 minutes)

Joe Spinell "Uncle Roscoe" owns a funeral home, and business is booming. Uncle Roscoe is a serial killer, and gets to relive his experience when the bodies come to his funeral home. He enjoys the ritual of preparing the body, he talks to the dead bodies while doing the makeup, and his nephew Kevin implies that he possibly engages in necrophilia. It just so happens that at Kevin's school they are talking about necrophilia and he convinces his teacher to come investigate the funeral home while his uncle is away.

There is an interesting story about the home release of this film. For some reason is was never released in 88' and Spinell had the only copy, and he died shortly after the film was completed. So for years it was never released. A bootleg copy was circulating for awhile but was missing around 6 minutes of footage. Code Red got distribution rights and released it on dvd with the missing 6 minutes filled in with some footage from other films released as Death Merchant. And the blu ray release from Vinegar Syndrome has the complete film including the missing 6 minutes. Spinell is the lead in probably my all time favorite film Maniac, it is always fun to see him in other films, especially horror.

I do not own the Code Red dvd, but I do plan on picking it up at some point. I would like to do a comparison. And through personal experience with Code Red i've never had any issues. My orders do take awhile to ship, but that's to be expected with such a small company. I've read on forums that people have had bad experiences with Code Red but that's not the case with me. The prints aren't always the greatest but he does release some obscure titles, my favorite being Mardi Gras Massacre blu ray.
