Set in Hawaii, Henry Roth is sailing his boat when it starts falling apart and he is forced to call the coast guard and escape on a lifeboat. While waiting for the coast guard he eats at a diner and meets Lucy. He makes her laugh and they hit it off, and make plans to meet again tomorrow only when tomorrow comes she doesn't remember him. Lucy has lost her ability to retain any new memories. Henry sees this as an opportunity to make her fall in love with him everyday. Lucy's dad and brother think he's up to no good, and they are set in their ways. Lucy, her dad and brother have the same day everyday, as her dad thinks this is the best thing for her.
