Katherine a professor at LSU and her co-worker Ben investigate claims of miracles as a hobby, and as part of her teachings. Katherine brings science to the investigation and Ben brings the Bible. The duo receive a phone call about a local town where the river has turned red and all the fish have died along with the body of a young boy. The locals believe an outcast family is to blame as there are rumors of satan worship. It's believed that because of the satan worship going on that God has decided to plague the town starting with the red river and frogs falling from the sky.
