#131 Bowling for Columbine (120 minutes)

I think the title and marketing of this film is somewhat misleading. One would think this documentary is about the columbine high school massacre, although that is the basis of the documentary what it really is about is Michael Moore trying to dig into the roots of why America has so much gun violence. The conclusion you get from here is mainstream media is to blame. One statistic that is shown in the film was talking directly about Flint, Michigan. The gentleman claimed that gun related crime was down 6% over the past few years in Flint but that media coverage of the crimes was up a whopping 600%. Overall it was very entertaining, he interviews Charlton Heston, Marilyn Manson, and surviving student from the shooting. I read recently that it will be released on Criterion.
